A CD repair kit can be purchased at Princess Auto (this was AGES ago) but Rogers Video (I’m really showing my age) used to clean DVDs with a sheet of white something and then they’ll spray furniture wax on the surface and polish it! The wax would fill the cracks. The shiny surface would remain. Pledge perhaps? It worked. Bizarre. Once the gash is too deep, the paper is scratched or a piece is out of it - you’re screwed. Some resurfacers can strip a thin layer of plastic off but that was at a music company that was doing more business repairing discs than selling music.
That is categorically the wrong 3 Movie collection of LOTR to have got. The Special Editions are superior and can fill in plot holes for those who need closure.
If anyone has the big machine picture in a movie poster from the second square of the Matrix Revolutions, I’ll attempt to offer a trade. I’ve got SailorMoon wall scrolls to part with. I have the other 3 as movie posters but not that one. I didn’t know it would be on the cover of the DVD. I’ve got little tiny ones with BUY TODAY on them but sigh, not the Zellers machine pic.
I need IRL media. I don’t want to waste bandwidth. Keeping VHS tapes and other cassettes is not “pack-ratting.” It is storing media in forms that will be accessed on technology you’ll keep alive so when whatever is niche today falls apart - you’ll have stuff around that you may have upgraded but didn’t give up on.
OMG read all 5 HHGTTG but 4 will do. It is called the Trilogy of 4 in 5 parts for a reason. If Peter David is your man, Douglas Adams in your pal.
I have Babylon 5 S1E4 ready to play in my disc drive. I go to it when I’m bored and don’t want to be online anymore.
