Honestly, I couldn’t pocket it, because I’ve lost my wallet once before, and it was some of the worst stress I ever went through. I accidentally cancelled the wrong card during the stress when I found out I had lost my wallet. I didn’t have $5000, but I had my paycheck in there and I would have been out of all my cash for the week.
Thankfully, I ended up retracing my steps and found it at a local store, but my goodness was it such a stress. I had a panic attack and everything.
So yeah, I’d try to return it, probably to a bank, just because I trust them more. Oddly enough, when I was at the store recently, I saw a wallet lying on the road. I immediately took it to the nearest store, which in hindsight, I probably should have returned it to a nearby bank, but I don’t think there was anywhere nearby, and I figure if someone would retrace their steps, they’ll just go back to the store they left. Just gotta hope the cashier didn’t pocket the money themselves.
